Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
The Float Intake Receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting patients and visitors at the front desk and by phone while providing coverage across TOI locations as needed. This position serves as a flexible resource to support staffing needs and may be assigned to different TOI locations based on operational needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Greets visitors entering the practice and directs or escorts them to specific destinations. Ensures that the reception area is presentable for visitors, as necessary. Provides front desk and intake coverage at various TOI locations based on operational and staffing needs. Completes patient intake screening, including obtaining and documenting all necessary information for appointments. Checks patients in for appointments and communicates any expected delays in physician clinics. Answers, screens, and forwards incoming phone calls, providing information and taking messages. Uses discretion and independent judgment when handling patient complaints and forwards documentation to the appropriate administrative staff. Assists with training new Intake Receptionists and providing support during the onboarding process. Travels between existing or new TOI locations as needed to provide coverage. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Minimum one year customer service experience preferred but not required.
SKILLS:
Excellent customer service skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to adapt to different work environments and workflows. Proficient with computer skills, including experience with practice management software desired.

Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to: remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.) Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, and reach with hand and arms. Occasionally lift and/or move over 25 pounds. Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
