Job Description

Bring the patient-care experience you have gained as a medical assistant to a front-desk role where your knowledge, warmth, and follow-through can make a difference throughout a patient's visit. Cardiovascular Center of Tampa, P.A. is looking for someone who enjoys helping people, keeps important details organized, and takes satisfaction in completing work well. You will welcome patients, help them understand their next steps, and keep appointments, messages, and patient information moving accurately through the front office. This front-desk position requires actual Medical Assistant work experience and hands-on eClinicalWorks experience.
ABOUT CARDIOVASCULAR CENTER OF TAMPA
We are an independent, physician-owned cardiology practice in the North Tampa / USF area. Our physicians have built a reputation for professional, compassionate care. With strong patient demand, the front desk plays an important part in that care, from a helpful first telephone call to an organized visit and clear next steps.
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY STANDS OUT
Your MA experience has a practical purpose here. Understanding medical-office care can help you communicate clearly with patients, recognize when assistance is needed, and route questions to the right team member. You can make a visible difference every day. A warm welcome, accurate information, and reliable follow-through help patients feel supported and make the day run more smoothly for coworkers and physicians. You will receive training in our front-desk procedures and office workflows. You will work with our Operations Manager and coworkers as you learn how the practice handles scheduling, patient information, payments, and communication. You will have meaningful patient contact throughout the day, with opportunities to help people navigate appointments and the practical details of their care. The position offers a regular 40-hour Monday-through-Friday workweek and the health, paid-time-off, retirement, and professional-development benefits listed below.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Welcome patients, complete new-patient registration and check-in/check-out accurately, and make their next steps clear. Schedule appointments and maintain current patient and insurance information in eClinicalWorks. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and help coordinate referrals and authorizations. Collect copays and patient balances, and post payments accurately. Answer calls courteously, route messages to the appropriate person, and complete assigned follow-up so patients receive the assistance they need. Protect patient confidentiality, follow office procedures, and work with coworkers to keep the front desk organized during busy periods.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Patients feel welcomed and know what happens next. Appointment and insurance information is accurate. Messages reach the right person, assigned follow-up is completed, and patients receive courteous assistance even when the office is busy. These everyday details help patients, coworkers, and physicians have a better-organized day.
WHAT YOU BRING
Actual hands-on work experience as a Medical Assistant is required. MA schooling or training alone does not meet this requirement. Hands-on eClinicalWorks experience is required. Be prepared to describe the functions you have personally used. Two to three years of medical front-desk experience is preferred. Applicants with less front-desk experience may be considered if they have the required MA work experience and eClinicalWorks experience. A warm, professional manner, clear communication, accurate work, and the ability to stay organized when phones and patient arrivals overlap. Spanish-speaking ability is preferred (bilingual English/Spanish). A willingness to learn, follow procedures, help coworkers, and take responsibility for completing your assigned work.
