Job Description

Citrus Cardiology Consultants, P.L.L.C., is looking for a full-time Medical Secretary/Scheduler for The Villages area. This position is primarily responsible for checking patients in/out and scheduling appointments, serving as the administrative assistant to the physicians.
Responsibilities:
Perform patient appointment reminder calls. Schedule patient appointments as directed. Reschedule patients as necessary. Access hospital portals to gather information only for the use of the physician in the decision-making and treatment of the patient and assist with chart preparation. Solicit appropriate authorization requests either to the authorizations department or, when necessary, with the insurance company directly. Provide visit documentation, including prescriptions, appointment summary, testing instructions, etc. as necessary at patient check-out. Provide patients with appropriate instructions for upcoming testing, procedures or other information as directed by the physician's orders. Serve as back-up to the telephone operator when necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required 2 year or more related experience or training 2 year of more in a medical environment Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical terminology; eCW experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of office software and equipment Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills
