Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and professionalism Maintain and update patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) confidentiality policies Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans, medical records, and clinical notes Assist with medical coding tasks such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and Medicare documentation requirements Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and relay messages efficiently Support medical office management by filing documents, managing electronic health records (EHR) Skills Proven experience in a medical office environment with strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems Excellent communication skills with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations Deep understanding of health insurance processes, medical billing, collections, and insurance verification procedures Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance standards Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, ICD coding practices, and Medicare documentation requirements Strong organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and manage multiple tasks efficiently Competent in Microsoft Office applications for administrative support tasks such as scheduling and record keeping Prior clinic or dental clinic experience is highly desirable to ensure seamless integration into healthcare workflows Demonstrated customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and compassionate patient interaction skills Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and health information management Join our team as a Medical Receptionist where your enthusiasm for healthcare administration will make a meaningful difference in patient experiences.
