Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team in Hinesville/GA! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. AthenaHealth experience preferred. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks exp preferred). Schedule appointments accurately and manage clinic calendars with medical scheduling. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle collection of copayments and outstanding balances Review and update medical records while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information or directing calls to appropriate staff members Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently, ensuring proper filing, data entry, and record keeping in compliance with health information management standards Experience Prior experience working in a medical or dental office environment is highly preferred Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and health information management practices Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills including 10-key typing for efficient data entry Office management experience including front desk duties, appointment scheduling, phone etiquette, filing and multi-line phone system operation Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate support to patients while ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility!
