SUMMARY OF POSITIONS
To ensure that all duties assigned are done in a timely manner and to participate in patient care within all aspects of a primary care physician's medical office setting, as well as within the confines of the scope of practice relevant to medical receptionist. To strive to become the best co worker and caregiver.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Includes, but may not be limited to the following:
MEDICAL OFFICE RECEPTIONIST POSITION
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Provides care in an office setting directed toward meeting the medical needs of the patient.
- Care given reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.
- Utilizes initiative and strives to maintain steady level of productivity.
- Is a self starter .
- Is compatible and supportive; and a team player .
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients.
- Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

- Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
- Maintains regulatory requirements; nursing and facility policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time .
