Experienced Medical Receptionist Location:
Bettendorf, Iowa Position:
Medical Receptionist /
Front Office Hours:
32-34 hours per week
Starting Pay:
$17.00 per hour
Experience:
Prior medical office/reception experience preferred A busy dermatology practice in Bettendorf is seeking an experienced, dependable Medical Receptionist to join our front office team. This position offers approximately 32-34 hours per week . The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, comfortable working with patients, and able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are required. Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greet patients and complete the check-in and check-out process. Answer incoming phone calls on three main phone lines and direct calls appropriately. Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Contact patients from previous years' lists who have missed appointments or have not been seen recently to assist with scheduling. Make appointment reminder calls to patients. Accurately enter and update patient demographics and insurance information in the practice's software. Prepare patient charts for the physician for the following day's appointments. Collect co-pays and outstanding patient balances in person and over the phone and accurately apply payments to patient accounts. Contact insurance companies when patient coverage or other information needs to be verified. Send medical records and other necessary documentation to referring providers. Scan, file, and maintain paper and electronic patient records in an organized manner. Assist with other front office and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or medical receptionist position is preferred. Strong computer skills are required. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy office environment. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with patients, providers, insurance companies, and coworkers. Dependable and able to maintain patient confidentiality.
