Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using EMR/EHR systems such as NexTech Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the clinic's calendar and coordinating with healthcare providers Collect and process medical collections, insurance information, and payments in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and care plan details Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing clear information about clinic services and appointment availability Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents correctly and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems Support medical billing processes by reviewing documentation for proper coding and insurance claims submission Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in medical office administration with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Strong knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, HIPAA compliance, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing practices Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel for documentation and scheduling purposes Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, 10-key typing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic experience or healthcare administrative support is preferred but not required Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patient care while developing your career in a supportive healthcare environment!
