Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointments, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix Ascend Manage patient scheduling efficiently through dental office management software and coordinate appointment times to optimize clinic flow Collect and process payments, including medical collections and insurance co-pays, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and billing procedures Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing clear information about services, appointment reminders, and insurance inquiries Maintain accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Verify insurance coverage, assist with health insurance knowledge, and facilitate claims processing for providers like Medicare or Medicaid Support medical administrative functions such as data entry, typing reports, updating care plans, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems Experience Previous experience working in a medical or dental office environment is highly preferred Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms is essential Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and health information management practices Competence in Microsoft Office applications along with excellent typing skills (including 10-key typing) for efficient documentation review and data entry Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values exceptional patient service while fostering your professional growth.
