Have reliable transportation to travel between our Elgin and Algonquin office locations. Be available to open the office as early as 7:30 AM . Be available to close the office as late as 6:00 PM . Position Overview As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play an essential role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive experience from the moment they contact or visit our office. This position requires exceptional customer service, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced OB/GYN practice. Responsibilities Greet patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion. Answer high-volume multi-line telephone calls promptly and courteously. Schedule office visits, ultrasounds, procedures, and follow-up appointments. Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals when necessary. Collect copayments, balances, and process patient payments. Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record (ECW experience preferred). Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality. Communicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, and outside physician offices. Respond to patient questions and direct calls to the appropriate department. Assist with prescription refill requests and patient messages by routing them appropriately. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Assist with general administrative duties to ensure efficient daily office operations. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Previous medical receptionist experience in an OB/GYN, Women's Health, Family Practice, or other busy medical office. Experience using Electronic Medical Records (ECW required). Knowledge of medical terminology. Bilingual (English/Spanish or Polish) is a plus.
