Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be essential to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and staff alike. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact, managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient service while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service at the front desk Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using eClinicalWorks EMR (Electronic Medical Records). Collect and process medical payments and insurance co-pays, supporting medical billing and collection efforts Verify patient insurance coverage, explain health insurance policies, and assist with Medicare or Medicaid documentation Manage electronic health records (EHR systems), including documentation review, medical records management, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally Assist with clinical documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and other medical administrative support tasks to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, Medicaid, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA compliance Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel for documentation and reporting purposes Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and appointment scheduling Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently while maintaining accuracy during data entry tasks Prior clinic experience or medical office management background is highly desirable Embark on a rewarding career where your enthusiasm for healthcare administration makes a real difference!
