Job Description

Job Summary:
Performs clerical duties for the unit including charting, filing, and transcription of orders. Coordinates unit communications such as telephone, patient, visitor, ancillary departments and physician staff. Duties involve use of computer. Assists in maintaining a well-organized and functional unit. Performance expectations are defined in the competency evaluation.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Performs clerical /secretarial duties in a timely and accurate manner. 2. Performs effective communication 3. Maintains equipment, supplies, and records in order to facilitate unit organization
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a unit secretary course at an accredited school preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
N/A Experience Requirements:
One year clerical / secretarial experience in a hospital setting acceptable in lieu of certification per discretion of unit director
