Job Description

Job Summary A new primary care/internal medicine clinic in Oswego, IL. We are looking for a professional, friendly, and organized Front Office Medical Receptionist to join our team. This person will be the first point of contact for patients and will play a very important role in creating a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate should be comfortable answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, checking patients in and out, collecting payments, and helping the clinic run smoothly. Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner Answer phone calls and route messages appropriately Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments Check patients in and out Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Collect copays, balances, and patient payments Update patient demographics and insurance information Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and medical record requests Communicate with pharmacies, labs, specialists, and insurance companies as needed Maintain front desk organization and patient confidentiality Help manage incoming faxes, messages, and forms Support provider and clinical staff with daily workflow Follow HIPAA and clinic privacy policies Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with clinic or dental clinic experience preferred Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare billing, HIPAA compliance, and health information management Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), documentation review, and medical billing procedures Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; ability to type quickly (10 key typing) and navigate multiple software applications efficiently Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and medical terminology essential for accurate record handling Office management skills including scheduling, insurance verification, filing, and administrative support functions Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patient care through your energetic approach and meticulous attention to detail.
