We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Optical Front Desk Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent patient service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical office operations within an optical and clinical setting. This role is vital in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient management of medical records and billing processes. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical coding, and health insurance procedures, contributing to a seamless patient experience and operational excellence. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment details, and facilitate check-in procedures with professionalism and courtesy. Manage patient scheduling using EMR/EHR systems to optimize clinic flow and reduce wait times. Collect and process medical payments and insurance claims accurately, utilizing knowledge of medical billing, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare, and health insurance policies. Review and update patient records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with documentation review, ensuring completeness and accuracy of clinical notes, care plans, and billing information. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient flow, appointment confirmations, and follow-up scheduling. Maintain organized medical records and electronic health records (EHR) management while adhering to health information management standards. Provide exceptional customer service through phone communication, addressing patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, or insurance coverage with clarity and professionalism. We are willing to train less-experienced individuals who have a great personality, an eagerness to learn and excel in the optical field, and a desire to grow with our practice. Potential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Eyewear selection and sales Eyewear dispensing Frame adjustments and repairs Contact lens training Order glasses and contact lenses Pay is based on experience Serious candidates only
