Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline clinic operations, ensure accurate documentation, and foster a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about delivering outstanding patient care through efficient office management. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate patient flow, and manage clinic calendars to optimize daily operations. Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring adherence to clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Assist with documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing processes to support accurate reimbursement. Manage phone communication with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and handling patient inquiries promptly. Maintain filing systems, perform data entry tasks including 10-key typing, and ensure all administrative records are current and organized. Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and assisting with EMR/EHR management tasks. make sure providers schedule is full Skills Proven experience in medical office administration or healthcare reception roles within clinics or hospitals. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing, and health insurance procedures including Medicare processing. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic documentation tools. Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and phone etiquette. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance standards is mandatory.
