JOB SUMMARY

The Unit Secretary performs receptionist and clerical duties with the supervision of a registered charge nurse and unit director. Must embody the values of Lawrence Memorial hospital and demonstrate effective time management skills as well as the ability to work independently as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives calls and customer requests and relays information to the appropriate parties. Understands and complies with all patient confidentiality requirements, HIPAA. Performs order transcription and computer order entry. Enters patient charges and assures that charges are complete and accurate. Files forms/reports in patients' medical records. Copies medical records for patient transfers. Verifies unit census. Maintains patient assessment log. Disseminates patient assignment information to appropriate parties. Orders and stocks chart forms and other supplies for the unit. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required :

High school diploma or equivalent 1 year related customer service experience

Preferred :
