Job Description

The front desk representative facilitates patient care at point-of-entry for all clinical locations. The primary responsibility of this position is patient intake.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Welcomes patients and visitors upon entry into the clinic. Assists with patient checkin/checkout. Verify insurance. Collects copays and deductibles. Enters patient demographics into EMR and practice management systems. Schedules followup appointments. Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition. Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Professional, dependable, and maintains positive attitude in fastpaced environment. Organized and able to multitask to facilitate efficient workflow. Knowledgeable of medical terminology and general medical practice operations. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Basic office skills such as typing, filing, and operating phones.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Experience in office role (medical office preferred). Familiarity with medical scheduling systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
