Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this essential role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks with precision. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations from patient check-in to appointment scheduling and billing. Your expertise in medical and dental administrative support, combined with strong computer skills and knowledge of health information management systems, will drive the success of our team and enhance patient experiences. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, establishing a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the day. Verify patient insurance coverage, explain treatment plans, and assist with financial arrangements. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation review and data entry. Handle medical billing and collections, including Medicare and health insurance claims processing, utilizing knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, and HIPAA compliance. Maintain accurate medical records, process documentation review, and ensure confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear communication regarding appointments, billing inquiries, or general questions. Support office operations by filing documents, performing 10 key typing tasks efficiently, and managing electronic health record (EHR) management tasks. Assist in medical coding processes related to ICD coding and ensure proper documentation for care plans and billing purposes. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic experience while maintaining high standards of customer service and health information management. Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental clinic workflows is a plus. Proven experience in medical administrative support or front desk roles within healthcare settings. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms. Experience handling medical billing, collections, insurance verification, and understanding of health insurance policies including Medicare. Competency in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation review processes. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic health records management software. Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding patient service with professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Strong clerical skills including filing, phone communication, typing (including 10 key), and office organization are essential for success in this role.
