Schedule appointments accurately, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely care delivery. Collect and process payments, including medical billing and collections, utilizing health insurance knowledge such as Medicare and HIPAA compliance standards. Maintain precise medical records by reviewing documentation, updating patient files, and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Handle incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, answer inquiries about services, insurance coverage, and appointment scheduling. Assist with medical coding tasks including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and documentation review for billing accuracy. Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, performing 10-key typing tasks, and maintaining organized medical records in EMR/EHR platforms like Athenahealth or other clinic-specific systems. Qualifications Proven experience in a dental or medical front desk role with strong knowledge of medical office management and administrative support functions. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred. Solid understanding of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and medical collections. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and accurate documentation. Excellent customer service skills complemented by professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy for 10-key typing tasks. Prior clinic experience or dental office experience is highly desirable to navigate the fast-paced clinical environment seamlessly.
