Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help manage patient appointments, handle medical billing and collections, and support clinical staff with administrative tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of a patient-centered dental practice dedicated to delivering exceptional care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and data entry Handle phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and vendors while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Collect payments, process medical collections, and perform medical billing in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health insurance requirements like Medicare Maintain accurate medical records, electronic health records (EHR), and dental charts while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies Assist with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up on outstanding balances using systems such as Athenahealth or EMR systems Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized front desk environment Experience Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist in a busy clinic or dental office setting Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, ICD coding, and medical billing procedures Familiarity with systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software Demonstrated ability to handle health information management with accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standard Prior clinic experience involving medical administrative support, scheduling, filing, 10-key typing, and phone communication is highly desirable Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values professionalism, compassion, and excellence in patient care.
