About us Gastroenterology Specialists of Frederick is a two provider practice in Frederick, MD. We are professional, customer-centric, supportive and our goal is to provide our patient's with a satisfying healthcare experience-listening to their needs and choosing the best treatment options. Our work environment includes:
Modern office setting Food provided On-the-job training Lively atmosphere This position will have the individual perform the duties of a medical scribe 2 days a week and the duties of a medical assistant 3 days a week. A medical scribe is a trained documentation specialist who charts patient encounters in real-time. As a Scribe, you will be working directly with the physician and will be exposed to medical procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology.
  • Accompany healthcare provider during patient encounters to accurately record and document patient visits
  • Document patient medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans in real-time
  • Transcribe diagnosis, medical orders, follow-up instructions and prescriptions accurately
  • Assist with in-office exams
  • Manage and organize medical records, including lab results and imaging reports
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as: scheduling appointments, procedures, and answering phone calls ```
Requirements:
```
  • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred (previous GI experience helpful)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems (prior gGastro/gMED experience helpful)
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written This position requires working closely with healthcare providers in the office to accurately document patient encounters.
The medical scribe will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient medical record keeping. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, attention to detail, and proficiency in using electronic health record systems are essential for success in this role. Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred. The ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations is crucial. Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with healthcare providers and other staff members.
