Job Description

The Coordinator of Surgical Scheduling is responsible for the comprehensive scheduling of procedures at the Surgery Center and assists with obtaining patients' medical record information in a prompt and efficient manner. This position works under the direction of the Surgery Center Business Manager and supports the center's goals and objectives. Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate scheduling activities. Obtain and procure patients' medical record information in a timely and efficient manner. Provide front desk coverage and support as needed. Maintain accurate and timely information to support patient care and surgical center operations. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education High school education required. Experience Previous medical office and computer experience preferred. Familiarity with current medical billing regulations for major insurance carriers preferred. At least one year of previous scheduling experience or equivalent preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy. Excellent verbal and oral communication skills. Excellent typing and computer skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage scheduling responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
