Medical Receptionist - Ophthalmology Practice Our ophthalmology practice is seeking a skilled, patient‑focused Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced clinical environment. Previous medical office experience is highly recommended Responsibilities Patient intake and check‑in — greet patients, verify demographics, update medical insurance, and ensure all required forms are completed accurately. Appointment scheduling and coordination — manage a multi‑provider schedule, confirm appointments, handle rescheduling needs, and optimize daily patient flow. Insurance verification — confirm eligibility, obtain authorizations when required, and communicate coverage details to patients. Phone and communication management — answer high‑volume calls, triage messages for clinical staff, and provide clear information about services, policies, and visit expectations.
