Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies. Assist with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to support billing processes. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems, update patient information, and review care plans while ensuring data accuracy and security. Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient care plans, appointment scheduling, and follow-up procedures. Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), document review, and maintaining organized medical records. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with patients, insurance companies, and vendors to facilitate smooth office operations. Experience Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred, especially with clinic experience involving patient service and front desk responsibilities. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management policies such as HIPAA compliance. Experience with medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), documentation review, and medical administrative support is essential. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated clerical experience with excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
