Job Description

The Medical Office Receptionist will greet patients and welcome them into the office. Help with check-in process by answering questions, updating insurance information, collecting co-pays, supplying additional paperwork to fill out if needed, answering phone calls and scheduling appointments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Greet and check in patients that enter the office 2. Responsible for patient check in and check out related tasks. 3. Answer multi-phone lines 4. Work multiple scheduling system and multiple schedules 5. Check reports daily for cancelled or reschedule requests 6. Co-ordinate and schedule appointments for patients in person and on the phone 7. Reschedule appointments when changes occur in the schedule 8. Treat patients in a friendly, respectful, professional manner. Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service, receptionist, medical office, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Previous scheduling and appointment coordination experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-provider healthcare environment.
Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of SCN'S salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
