Job Description

Part-Time Medical Receptionist Schedule:
2-3 days per week (approximately 16-24 hours per week)
Pay:
$18-$22/hour Job Summary Bishop Medical offers mental health treatment to patients in the Portland area and throughout New England. We specialize in the treatment of psychiatric and co-occurring disorders, providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art care. Our services include an evidence-based suite of treatments delivered by highly trained clinicians. Our mission is to provide treatment and strategies that foster long-term effectiveness. We are dedicated to our mission and are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our team! Duties Greets guests and clients entering the facility in a kind and courteous manner at all times. Answers the main phone line, transfers calls to the appropriate party, and/or takes messages. Assists with scheduling client intakes and appointments as needed. Verifies insurance benefits and authorizations. Processes incoming mail and sends outgoing correspondence as needed. Maintains company records and documentation. Enters data into the computer system, ensuring accuracy. Participates in management team meetings as needed. Oversees the front office area, ensuring it is hazard-free, orderly, and professional. Checks office supply inventory weekly and submits orders for items running low. Oversees the administrative functioning of the facility in an organized and professional manner. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinates with contracted agencies to develop patient schedules and collaborates with the team to resolve any logistical complications that may arise. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Skills Experience with medical office management software, including AdvancedMD and similar EMR systems. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, and
ICD-9/10
coding standards for accurate documentation review and billing support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and typing skills, including 10-key data entry. Familiarity with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid billing procedures. Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
