In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering compassionate patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments using medical office management software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle medical collections with accuracy. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems, including documentation review and data entry in platforms like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Assist with medical billing processes, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims submission. Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages. Maintain patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Support clinical staff by preparing care plans and updating medical records as needed. Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, typing (including 10 key), and managing office supplies to ensure an organized workspace. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to promote seamless care delivery. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinical setting. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including medical billing, collections, Medicare procedures, and health information management. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation review standards. Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Office experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is highly desirable. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance is essential. Strong organizational skills with experience managing electronic health records (EHR) management and medical records filing.
