Medical Receptionist /
Front Desk Coordinator Job Summary:
The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients at a busy doctor's office. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a smooth patient check-in process, and supporting clinical staff with administrative and basic patient care coordination, including assisting with walk-in injection visits.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients using electronic medical records (EMR) systems Verify patient information, insurance details, and update records as needed Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately Process patient payments, co-pays, and provide receipts Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area Coordinate patient flow and communicate delays or updates to patients Assist with walk-in patients requiring injections by notifying clinical staff and preparing necessary documentation Ensure all forms and consent documents are completed accurately Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Professional demeanor and attention to detail
Work Environment:
Fast-paced medical office setting Frequent interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and staff
Preferred Skills:
