The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients throughout their experience, from scheduling consultations to checking in and completing follow-up appointments. Key Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival. Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries. Schedule and confirm consultations, procedures, follow-up appointments, and office visits. Check patients in and out and maintain accurate patient information. Verify insurance benefits and collect copayments, balances, and other payments when applicable. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations. Assist with patient registration, forms, medical records, and documentation. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, medical assistants, and other office staff. Provide information regarding office policies, procedures, pre-operative instructions, and appointments. Handle sensitive patient questions with professionalism, empathy, and discretion. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Assist with administrative duties, referrals, records requests, and other front-office responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Previous medical receptionist, front-desk, or healthcare experience preferred. Experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, or a similar specialty is a plus. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Comfortable working with computers, electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling systems, and payment processing. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information. Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Skills Knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with insurance verification and medical billing. Experience scheduling surgical procedures or consultations. Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Work Environment This position is based in a professional plastic surgery practice and involves frequent interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff. The receptionist should be compassionate, polished, discreet, and committed to providing an excellent patient experience.
