5:30 AM (typically every other Friday) Position Summary We are a busy ambulatory surgery center seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a medical office with knowledge of front desk operations, medical insurance, and patient registration. This position plays an important role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the front office operates efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Responsibilities Welcome and check in surgery patients Greet and assist patients and their families Answer and direct incoming phone calls using a multi-line phone system Collect and post patient payments Prepare, organize, and complete patient charts before and after surgery Perform general clerical and administrative duties Maintain accurate patient records while following HIPAA guidelines Support the day-to-day operations of the front office Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and staff Qualifications Previous medical office or ambulatory surgery center experience preferred Experience with front desk operations, patient registration, and customer service Working knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes required Familiarity with medical terminology (ophthalmology experience is a plus) Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Experience managing medical records Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
