Job Description
This part-time Medical Secretary position is offered by a private practice clinic in the Port Huron area. This job requires working 1-3 days per week as needed. Applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience working as a medical assistant or in a healthcare setting is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) and computers is required for this position. Please review the job tasks and requirements below before applying.
Job Tasks:
- Schedule patient appointments
- Collect co-pays and balances
- Answer phones
- Check-In/Check-Out patients
- Insurance verification and prior-authorizations
- File charts
- Escort patients through the office for their appointment
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with EMR
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
