Job Description

Medical Receptionist Job Description:
The Imaging Center is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist who will perform clerical and administrative tasks as well as assist in patient care within a fast-paced radiology environment! This position will work closely with our team and under guidance of the Center Director to support the organization's daily goals to maintain high customer service, efficient pace for our patients scheduled appointments and highly accountable to the team.
Essential Functions:
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner and guide them through the registration process. Answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner. Respond to emails, faxes, and other correspondence for medical imaging appointments and medical record requests. Maintain our Radiology Information System (RIS); including scanning, filing, and tracking as needed in a RIS system and with high attention to detail. Follow all office policies and procedures for HIPAA compliance, filing, copying, scanning, taking patient payment, etc., ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner. Ensure that all security measures are followed at all times; maintain a safe work environment; ensure that office equipment is in good working order. Keep reception/lobby area neat and tidy. Assisting in direct patient care, including rooming patients for their imaging exam. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred but not required.
  • 2 years experience working in patient care or customer service is required. Experience in a medical office strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to speak clearly and professionally at all levels of the organization.
