Position Summary:
Schedules patients for Office visits, procedures and surgery. Manages physician schedules as needed. Coordinates and schedules appointments for surgeries and procedures at the clinic, ambulatory surgery center or hospital.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Schedules imaging, testing and Office Visits, follow-up appointments as designated by physicians according to established policies and procedures. 2. Interact with patients, physicians and other staff within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information. 3. Works with the nurse to make arrangements for surgical assistants, special equipment, and surgical materials. 4. Schedule diagnostic therapy and other treatments as requested. 5. Obtain authorization for appointments and testing from patient's insurance company. 6. Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for physician and other personnel. 7. Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete. 8. Input Patient/Insurance data into practice Management system. 9. Rotate to the Front Desk as needed. Greets patients and checks them into the system. Brings patients back if needed. 10. Rotate to rooming patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. 11. Completes intake process, Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight. 12. Maintain files and patient records in a confidential manner. 13. Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
