Some Monday's. We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Medical Receptionist to join our small but busy healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations, phones, filing paper and electronic records and providing exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, maintaining accurate medical records via paper and electronically, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation protocols. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered environment while gaining valuable experience in medical office management. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule patient appointments accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks in compliance with health information management policies Collect and process payments, including copays and outstanding balances, utilizing medical billing and collection procedures Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR), ensuring documentation review for completeness and accuracy Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills Assist with patient intake procedures, including data entry and completion of necessary forms Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and patient flow Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies at all times Perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing medical records Support office management tasks including appointment reminders, follow-up calls, and documentation review Utilize Microsoft Office tools for report generation and administrative support Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic environment is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding practices Experience with medical billing processes and insurance verification procedures Strong understanding of healthcare documentation standards and clinical confidentiality policies Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including typing (10-key), Microsoft Office applications, and electronic health record management Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment If you are committed to delivering outstanding patient service while supporting efficient clinic operations, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding part-time position.
