Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients, and providing essential administrative support within a medical office setting. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, office management skills, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for healthcare providers. Handle phone calls, emails, and other correspondence with professionalism. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history. Maintain accurate records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Assist in the preparation of care plans as needed. Utilize electronic health record systems, Athena Health Support the medical team with administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and office management practices is essential. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Athena) is preferred but not required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively. Experience with Insurance verifications and prior auths are highly preferred.
