Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and plays a key part in providing a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate experience. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care. This position will primarily be in our Port Huron and East China office locations with opportunities to cover other locations occasionally.
GENERAL SUMMARY
To provide exceptional patient care by greeting patients, as well as other duties to prepare for the physician's visit. Additionally, answering basic questions in person and via phone, verifying insurance, collecting copays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with answering phones, appointment scheduling, and other front desk responsibilities. Greet patients and follow-up with their concerns upon entering and leaving the office. Collect patient demographic and insurance information according to Office Policies and Procedures. Assist with duties related to the patient portal. Assist with Patient Communication Answer basic patient questions, advancing medical questions to clinical professional. Assess basic calls to determine level of urgency, forwarding more complicated/urgent calls as appropriate. Process prescription refills requests Direct hospital consults to physician on call Transmit Alert lab values to ordering physician Deliver test/lab results to patients as authorized by protocols Access to Personal Health Information (PHI) Other duties as assigned.

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
