Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent patient service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office operations. As a Dental Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records while ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through efficient office management and exceptional communication. Duties Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Maintain accurate medical and dental records in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality policies. Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating documentation review processes. Support billing activities through medical collection processes, coding using
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, and managing Medicare or health insurance claims. Manage office administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, typing (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized patient files. Coordinate appointment scheduling and reminders using EMR/EHR systems to optimize clinic flow and patient experience. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding health information management and clinical confidentiality policies. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare office environment is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance verification processes, and health insurance policies including Medicare. Experience with medical coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) and CPT coding for accurate documentation review and billing purposes. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proven ability to handle clinical confidentiality policies with discretion while providing front desk support in a fast-paced environment.
