Fairfield Pediatrics | Wayne, Michigan Fairfield Pediatrics is an independent pediatric medical practice seeking an experienced, professional, and highly dependable Medical Front Office Coordinator / Office Lead . We are looking for more than someone to answer phones and schedule appointments. This position is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their work, uses good judgment, thinks ahead, and can confidently manage the day-to-day front office while maintaining a warm and professional environment for patients and families. There is opportunity for the right person to take on increasing responsibility and grow into a larger office leadership role. What You'll Be Responsible For Managing daily front-office workflow Greeting and checking patients in and out professionally Answering and managing telephone calls and patient messages Scheduling and confirming appointments Reviewing and preparing the upcoming patient schedule Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits Identifying and collecting copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient balances Maintaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information Coordinating medical records, forms, immunization records, referrals, and other patient requests Monitoring incoming faxes, emails, and office communications Documenting relevant communications appropriately in the medical record Identifying items requiring follow-up and seeing them through to completion Communicating effectively with patients, families, physicians, insurance companies, pharmacies, and other medical offices Helping maintain an organized, efficient, and professional medical-office environment Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate: Has previous medical-office/front-desk experience Has a history of dependable and stable employment Takes ownership of their responsibilities Thinks ahead and anticipates what needs attention Uses good judgment and problem-solving skills Can work independently without constant direction Pays close attention to details Follows through on tasks from beginning to completion Can prioritize when several things require attention Learns new processes and applies what they have learned Communicates clearly and professionally Is dependable, punctual, organized, and accountable Wants to become a long-term part of a growing practice Experience with Epic or another electronic medical record system is strongly preferred. Experience with insurance verification, patient collections, referrals, or medical billing is highly desirable . Experience as a lead medical receptionist, patient services coordinator, medical office coordinator, lead medical assistant, referral coordinator, or assistant office/practice manager is particularly relevant.
