Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a supportive and detail-oriented Dental Office Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth daily operations and positive patient experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, attention to detail to look ahead and anticipate needs of patients and the clinical team, and the ability to be confident in friendliness and communication with others. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using dental practice management software (training provided) Schedule patient appointments efficiently, coordinate with clinical staff, and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and clarity Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks Maintain accurate records by updating patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Assist with intake procedures, including gathering patient medical history and updating care plans in compliance with health information management standards Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR) documentation Communication with dental labs and specialists offices, including phone calls, incoming/outgoing emails If you enjoy interpersonal communication, making checklists and crossing off tasks, and staying organized, this position is for you! Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is a plus but not necessary Demonstrated proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and health insurance knowledge is a plus but training will be provided Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry, phone etiquette, and multi-line phone system operation Proven ability to provide excellent client service while maintaining clinical confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives!
