We pride ourselves on our patient-centric approach and are seeking a motivated Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team. The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience in our healthcare facility. This position involves managing front office operations, including scheduling appointments, patient check-ins, and processing medical records, all while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage incoming calls, direct them to appropriate staff, and answer basic inquiries. Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time. Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical histories. Handle billing and payment processing, as well as resolve any billing inquiries. Coordinate communication between healthcare providers and patients. Ensure the front office area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist with medical transcription, as needed. Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks, such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare is advantageous. Previous experience as a medical receptionist, healthcare administration or related fields preferred. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
