The Local Start Dental vision and mission meet a critical need in North Carolina as the clinic restores smiles and confidence for underserved neighbors while advancing the clinical skills of dental students and professionals.

Modern office setting Growth opportunities The role of the Front Office Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator is to schedule patient appointments and assist with all necessary steps to ensure patient satisfaction. The role involves greeting patients and maintaining a highly-professional and hospitable environment in the office at all times. The patient care coordinator should ensure that each and every patient is treated warmly and with the best possible customer service and has the optimal patient experience at each visit.
Other responsibilities include:
  • Use Local Start's best practices, resources, tools, and financial options to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique wants and needs.
  • Verify patient fees, Medicaid/VA benefits, CE course and pro-bono eligibility for patients.
  • Properly use Dentrix software to maintain accuracy in patient records.
  • Schedule future appointments, collect payments, and follow up with patients on outstanding treatment plans or balances.
  • Complete responsibilities such as referral intakes, lead follow ups and confirmation calls.
  • Identify and implement operational best practices in partnership with the Front Office Supervisor and Office Manager.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of current tasks, progress, and support needed.
  • Maintains an appropriate professional appearance in line with company policies.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and treats other staff members and patients with respect.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as State, Federal, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in morning huddles, team meetings, and any additional needed meetings as scheduled.
  • Marketing to the local community members and dental professionals
  • Keep commitments, and keep director supervisors informed of work progress timetables, and issues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as State, Federal, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Report weekly to the Office Manager detailing accomplishments, areas for improvement, clear performance goals, and effectiveness of systems.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Skills:
  • Bilingual English<>Spanish
  • Dental experience is preferred, but not required.
We, at Local Start, value customer service skills and understand that may come from different backgrounds (e.g. retail, hospitality, medical).
Schedule:
Monday
  • Thursday 9:30
  • 6 Fridays & Saturdays
  • PRN.
You will be expected to work Fridays and Saturdays as needed.
