Job description Administrative Medical Receptionist-Job Description We are a fast-paced medical office seeking a full-time Receptionist to join our team. Ideal candidates will be friendly, professional, articulate, intelligent, and highly motivated . This role requires strong multitasking abilities and a commitment to providing excellent patient service.
Primary Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients and visitors in a warm, courteous, and helpful manner. Direct individuals to the appropriate department or staff member. Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies. Manage front desk operations including answering phones, faxing, checking in/out patients, collecting co-pays and co-insurance, verifying insurance, and data entry into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Keep waiting areas and front desk tidy and organized. Resolve patient concerns with professionalism and escalate issues when necessary. Perform general office tasks such as copying, filing, and other administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality, particularly in relation to HIPAA. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with a diverse patient population. Professional phone etiquette and the ability to manage calls efficiently. Adaptable and flexible with the ability to meet changing needs of the practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay calm under pressure.
Preferred:
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare setting is a plus, but not required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.
High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Prior medical receptionist experience preferred, but not required.
