Hunterdon Hematology Oncology is a private medical practice that specializes in chemotherapy, infusions, and radiation treatments, as well as innovative treatments like immunotherapy and personalized targeted therapy to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients. We are seeking a talented, reliable Medical Discharge Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to multitask. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic medical oncology team dedicated to providing top-tier care!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect copayments and schedule patients for follow-up appointments Perform general clerical duties including faxing, copying, filing, distributing memos and daily schedules, etc. Maintain knowledge of providers, facility personnel, etc. Make any referrals needed for FRAP, Physical Therapy, Home Health, and Hospice Schedule patients with Interventional Radiology Schedule patients for Chemotherapy appointments Schedule patients for Imaging appointments (CT, PET, MRI, X-ray, US, DXA, EKG, etc.) including Barium Swallows and instruct the patients in the proper protocol and procedures associated with them Print all necessary educational material for the patient Schedule patients for Surgeries, Biopsies, PFTs, IR procedures, Ports/VADs, Paras/Thoras, Flow studies, Bone Marrow Procedures, Chemo Embolizations, Pleurx, Lumbar Punctures, and/or Spinal Taps
REQUIREMENTS 1-5
years of related Medical Office experience Experience in scheduling medical procedures Experience with scripts and orders Knowledge of ICD-10 codes and CPT codes Experience in handling and balancing cash MS Word, Excel, and EHR experience (NextGen or Epic preferred) Experience with computers and automated scheduling
