About the
Role:
The Medical Receptionist plays a critical role as the first point of contact for patients within our healthcare facility, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This position requires managing patient appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. As a bilingual Spanish-speaking receptionist, you will facilitate clear communication between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers, enhancing patient satisfaction and care quality. The role demands excellent organizational skills to coordinate schedules, process insurance information, and support clinical staff in daily operations. Ultimately, the Medical Receptionist contributes significantly to the smooth functioning of the healthcare office, promoting a positive environment for both patients and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. At least one year of previous experience in a medical receptionist or front-desk role within a healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel to satellite office location.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with medical insurance verification processes. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards. Customer service training or experience in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously, verifying personal and insurance information. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in both English and Spanish, providing accurate information or directing calls appropriately. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and data accuracy. Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient flow and communicate any special needs or instructions. Process billing information and assist patients with insurance verification and payment procedures. Manage office supplies and maintain a clean, organized reception area.
