As a Unit Secretary, you'll play a vital role in supporting our nursing team while helping create a welcoming, organized environment for patients, families, and visitors. If you enjoy multitasking, communicating with people, and keeping operations running smoothly, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes of patient care. As the central point of communication for the nursing unit, you'll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure information flows accurately and efficiently, so patients receive exceptional care. As a Unit Secreatary, a typical day might include the following: Welcoming patients, families, visitors, and physicians while providing exceptional customer service.

Answering telephones, call bells, and intercoms, directing requests to the appropriate team members.

Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate patient information.

Entering physician orders and updating patient records using electronic medical record systems.

Preparing, organizing, and maintaining reports and unit documentation.

Supporting the daily operations of the nursing station by maintaining supplies and ensuring an organized work environment.

Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflows and positive patient experiences. This role might be for you if: You enjoy working in a fast-paced healthcare environment where no two days are the same.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with previous clerical, administrative, or customer service experience. Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and computer skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment. Previous experience as a Unit Clerk, Unit Secretary, or in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred.
