Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) system - Athenahealth Schedule patient appointments accurately using clinic-specific scheduling software, coordinating with medical staff to optimize provider availability. Manage incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately. Review and process documentation including medical histories, care plans, and referral information while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper filing of electronic health records (EHR), paper files, and other documentation in accordance with health information management standards. Perform administrative duties such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools, 10-key typing, filing, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk running smoothly. Collaborate effectively with clinical teams to facilitate appointment rescheduling or cancellations while maintaining excellent customer service. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is essential. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are necessary for effective phone etiquette and patient interactions. Proven clerical experience involving front desk operations, appointment scheduling, filing systems, and health information management. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
