Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience while managing essential administrative functions. Your energetic approach and excellent organizational skills will contribute to efficient clinic operations, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (eClinicalWorks). Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks and assist with prior authorizations. Manage patient records by filing, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining organized medical records in accordance with health information management protocols. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent phone etiquette while addressing patient inquiries or routing calls appropriately. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and document review processes for accuracy and completeness in compliance with healthcare regulations. Skills Fluency in English and Mandarin is required Ability to speak Cantonese or Fujianese is a plus Availability to work weekends is preferred Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems is preferred Familiarity with medical terminology, and health insurance procedures is a plus Excellent computer skills for documentation and reporting tasks is a plus. Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and multi-line phone system operation. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially following HIPAA guidelines; experience with clinical confidentiality policies is essential.
