Job Description

Job Summary The Schegistrar is responsible for scheduling and pre-registering patient appointments. These tasks are completed by answering incoming calls, making outgoing calls, through data entry or via appointment/pre-registration work queues. Core Job Responsibilities All Assignments Answer incoming calls in a professional manner. Make outgoing calls to patients/providers/departments in a professional manner. Schedule/re-schedule appointments in Epic Cadence or OpTime software program. Create hospital accounts and complete pre-registration for all scheduled appointments. Data entry and Appointment Work queue scheduling Perform other duties as required. Medical Group assignment Obtain information from patient to determine whether appointment is symptomatic or routine. Send complete and accurate patient informational messages to correct Medical Group/provider. Ability to communicate in a professional demeanor to physicians/providers and office staff. Complete pre-registrations accounts in the Pre-Registration Work queue. Surgery Scheduling assignment Works with surgical offices for accuracy of CPT codes, Patient class, hospital and ICD 10 codes. Maintain document control of surgical booking sheets. Completes pre-registrations accounts in the Surgical Pre-Registration Work queue. Creates estimates for self pay patients and works directly with patient to secure payment. Outpatient Services assignment Works the Appointment Work queue to ensure all appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. Indexes or scan physician orders/scripts received by fax or OnBase software program. Provides preps to physician offices/patients for scheduled tests/procedures. Obtain missing physician orders/scripts prior to scheduled appointments. Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED
High School Diploma or
GED PREFERRED
Minimum of one year Medical Office, Hospital Registration or Scheduling experience.
