In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clerical duties. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using Modernizing Medicine EMA Verify patient insurance coverage through the EMR system or insurance portals like Availity, Athenahealth or Medicare, ensuring accurate billing and authorization processes Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy Collect and review patient information, update medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and billing inquiries related to medical collection processes Maintain organized filing of medical records, lab results, and other documentation while ensuring accuracy in documentation review and CPT coding Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing administrative tasks such as faxing and scanning documents Assist in educating patients on medical grade skincare products and procedures and guiding them towards what is needed to achieve their skin care goals Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe Utilize medical coding knowledge to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues that may arise during the billing process Maintain patient billing records and update as necessary Process payments from insurance companies and patients Stay current on industry changes and updates related to medical billing practices Skills/Qualifications Proficiency in EMR systems such as Modernizing Medicine, Practice Fusion, Epic. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Experience with health information management systems and medical office management software like Modernizing Medicine EMA Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated clinic experience in a healthcare setting with strong organizational skills in office management and front desk operations Ability to learn and adapt to new software and computers quickly Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and experience handling sensitive health information securely Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone Experience in medical office, medical spas or hospital environments is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn new systems such as Modernizing Medicine EMA is essential Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9, and medical coding systems Experience in medical billing, collections, or a related field Knowledge of medical office procedures and practices Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers If you are a dedicated Medical Biller or receptionist with interest/passion in learning medical billing, we invite you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
