Medical Receptionist- Patient Check-in/Check-out/Answering
- Phones Full Time
- Monday through Friday 8:15 am-4:45 pm, or 8-5 schedule with no evenings, weekends or Holidays.
Qualifications:
1. Must be a high school graduate. 2. One year prior work experience, preferably in a medical office setting, 3. Must demonstrate knowledge of medical business office procedures. 4. Must demonstrate good communication skills. 5. Must be courteous, friendly, diplomatic, tactful, and always professional when dealing with patients, physicians, visitors and staff. 6. Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable. 7. Must have knowledge of computer/word processing systems.General Duties:
General duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. 2. To check in patients, verify and update demographic and/or insurance information in the records as necessary; make necessary additions and changes using the computer. 3. Collect insurance co-pays each visit (check, cash, charge). 4. Maintain appropriate scheduling process and policies. 5. Answer calls, take messages, provide information as needed. 6. Scan reports, test, results, patient documents, etc 7. Coordinate or schedule tests, etc. 8. Prepare the daily summary of patient activity at the end of each day. 9. Maintain the work area in a neat and organized manner. 10. Report urgent issues, patient emergencies to the coordinator or physician(s) as appropriate in a timely manner. 11. Demonstrate the ability to work as a team and to initiate problem solving when needed to ensure patient, physician and staff satisfaction. 12. Maintain confidentiality. 13. Perform other related work as required. Physical Demands 1. Requires standing or sitting for extended periods of time. 2. Some bending stretching, lifting and stooping may be required. 3. Requires manual dexterity sufficient enough to operate office equipment including but not limited to telephone, keyboard, copier and fax machine. 4. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. 5. Requires the ability to communicate with patients, office personnel and the community.Job Type:
